The class determines how much a weight may deviate. The weight must be more accurate than the scale you check with it: the error of the weight should be at most one third of the error the scale is allowed at that load.
Test weight, check weight or calibration weight: in practice they are the same thing, a weight of known mass in an OIML class. Four choices determine what you order.
The class follows from your scale: E2 for analytical balances, F1 or F2 for precision balances and M1 for most bench, floor and pallet scales. Use our guide to choosing a calibration weight to check; the tolerances are in our explanation of the OIML classes.
Knob weights are used on balances and bench scales. Stackable block weights are the standard for floor and pallet scales, and heavy weights for weighbridges and crane scales.
Weights in the E and F classes are always made of stainless steel. In the M classes you choose between robust, economical cast iron and low-maintenance stainless steel. Read more in cast iron or stainless steel weights.
If you always check the same load, a single weight is enough. With a weight set you check a scale at several points of its range. Read what the names mean in test weight or calibration weight.
The price excl. VAT is shown per version. Use the quote basket to request a quote for everything you need in one go.
Weights in classes F1 to M3 are available with a traceable calibration certificate from our laboratory. We also carry out weight calibration and recalibration ourselves.
Not sure which class or range suits your scale? Call us on +31 345 786 553; our specialists calibrate scales and weights every day.
Do you only need weights temporarily, for example for a crane test or checking a weighbridge? Then hire calibrated weights from us, transport included.
